Fall Owl Wreath

I am so stinking excited about how this turned out!

By far - my favorite project so far.

Okay - to make this Fall Owl Wreath you will need:

Medium sized round wreath - mine was about 10" accross

4 Strips of fabric - 1.5" x 44" (or the width of a bolt) It took most of a quarter yard.

Hot Glue

A Stick

Cutouts from Silhouette or Stickers/cut outs from the craft store

Step One: Wrap your fabric around your wreath and secure with hot glue at the end of each piece. You don't need to glue as you go, just wrap tightly.

 

 

Here we are all wrapped up - seriously, the possibilities are endless...

  

Step Two: Add you stick across the wreath towards the bottom. Jax (my 4 year old) brought this stick home with him from my office when he stayed home from school because he was sick.

Step Three: Get your extras together. These are the designs I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo. Owls and Flags are both really popular right now, so I'm sure you could find something similar at your local craft store.

 

Step Four: Use hot glue to secure your owl's and flags to your stick and wreath! You are all done!

 

I also made this little decoration with the extra flags and sticks.

Funky Fabric Pumpkins

They had pumpkins on sale at the grocery store yesterday when I was picking up the ingredients for a new recipe - that I will definitely be sharing soon - and I couldn't resist. We've had just enough Fall like days for me to get in the mood for Fall decorating.

I had no specific plan for them. I considered painting them and then remembered I had some quarter yard's of fabric that were just waiting for the right project.

Here is what you will need:

Pumpkins (obviously) - and if you have any old fake ones, you should definitely use those so you can save these beauties for next year

Fabric (I used 1/8 of a yard for each since they are small pumpkins. I would guess you could need up to a half yard for the bigger pumpkins)

Hot Glue

Scissors

Paint

Paint Brush (or cotton ball/Q-tip - you aren't painting much)

Step 1 - cut your fabric in 1/2 inch to 2 inch strips. The width will depend on how big your pumpkin is. Don't worry about it being exact - it won't make a difference.

Step 2 - start hot gluing the strips to the pumpkin. 

I did a few on top and then flipped the pumpkin over and glued on the bottom.

Here is a completed section - perfection is not necessary

  

Step 3 - Paint the tops Black - you could do this first if you wanted, but then you'd have to wait for it to dry to start your fabric - and waiting isn't exactly my thing.

  

Tada! Quick, easy and cheap (my favorite kind of project)!
